Movie #57 watched on 2/20/2019.
Director: Coralie Fargeat | Writer(s): Coralie Fargeat
The plot for this movie is literally in the title. There is nothing like a good revenge movie but those usually are dolled out over time or sometime after the fact. This is immediate and satisfying. There are a number of devices used in this movie to represent different things such as how disgusting the men in this movie are. One of my favorites is the apple that has been bitten into. Love how it represents the deterioration of the situation that Jen, our heroine, finds herself in. It’s a clever foreshadowing device and elevates what could be a run of the mill revenge flick into something that is clearly made by a true filmmaker.
