I really wanted to like this movie more than I did. I was so hyped based on the trailer, but the movie was not what I was expecting at all. I think David Ayer intended to subvert expectations but in this case, it did not work for me. I loved the characters of David and Creeper (Shia LaBeouf) and I was a fan of their relationship but by the end of the movie there was no payoff to it and LaBeouf’s Creeper was woefully underserved from a screen time perspective.
I am still a David Ayer fan, but this was not the one.
