After sitting with this movie for a little bit, the one thing that I have realized that is a feature and not a bug is that the stories that they try to tell are very small and intimate, even though the incident or the environment around them is so much bigger. When the stakes are the end of the world what’s really important is family and keeping those human connections alive. That’s what the Quiet Place movies choose to focus on. Well, they probably could have shown us a bit more in this film. I was OK with what we got. They added a bit more context to the aliens which I also appreciated.
