I was worried that this film would not work, but it definitely did. To the point where I wish it were a bit longer to give the third act a bit more time to breathe and not feel so rushed.

I also wish I knew a lot less going in. They need to change the poster and update the logline to be “Alice, a slave on a GA plantation, has had enough and longs for her freedom by any means necessary.” That is ALL you need to know. That with Keke Plamer killing it is enough to get you through the door. The first act is well done and is not rushed which would definitely propel you forward into the rest of the movie.

Watch this movie but I hope you know as little as possible going into it.
