Deep Impact in 2020 with a touch of Armageddon.

This is not the first time this premise has been used with varying degrees of success.  I am looking at you Armageddon, Deep Impact, and 2012.  As much as I loved the action and over-the-topness of Armageddon I always connected deeper to Deep Impact.  It was a film that took the premise a bit more seriously and asked you “What would you do if this was you?”.

Greenland falls into this latter category as well and for me personally did a very good job of grabbing me emotionally as scene after scene put me in that “How would your react?” or “What would you do?” headspace.  Funny enough, the one thing in this movie that seemed totally unplausible was the government’s completely coordinated and planned response.  That part felt like pure fantasy.
