This entry may seem out of left field but I will blame the Slashfilmcast.  They did a retro review and talked about this recently on the podcast.  I realized that I never saw the movie and the only thing I really knew was the soundtrack. It sounded interesting enough to check out and it was.

This is definitely a movie that is a product of its time.  While it’s not timeless it does fare better than I expected.  I do think if I had seen this when it came out in 1993 I would have a higher opinion and impression of it.

Even after having some of this movie spoiled for me I was still able to enjoy it and had a sense of tension.  An interesting time capsule of nineties filmmaking with a couple of memorable lines of dialogue such as “You can’t take my money, but you can take my money.”.

Glad I checked it out.
