Great documentary! I really loved how it managed the balance between informative, entertaining, and engaging. It had a tone and swag to it that I just loved.
As far as the subject of the doc, I just found myself shaking my head soooo many times at the asinine roadblocks and excuses given for not paying the women’s team equally.
The only argument that could even be considered is based on revenue generation. Sort of like a salesperson. You get paid based on how much revenue you generate, right? Well, even that argument is flawed if you do not pay at the same rate!! Pay the players the same rate and if they get paid less it’s because they are not producing in wins, merchandise, TV ratings, etc. They are scared because they know if they do that the Women’s Team will eclipse any other national team, not just the men’s soccer team, that the US has because they are bringing the heat each and every day. Not only have they represented this country tremendously but they have raised the profile of soccer inside the US and the profile of US soccer internationally more than any other body has. Ever since Brandy Chastain ripped off her jersey in one of the BADDEST moments in sports USWNT has been unstoppable in every facet of being a professional athlete. LFG and let’s get this SIMPLE math right! Don’t be greedy, be fair and be on the right side.
