This movie really had nothing to do with the first. I would say it’s more of a thematic sequel than an actual sequel. While I enjoyed it, the story honestly felt disjointed. Almost like the second half was a completely different movie than the first. Josh Brolin and Benecio Del Toro carry this movie though. They are amazing as usual.
