I have been reading “Best. Movie. Year. Ever.: How 1999 Blew Up the Big Screen” and this film was the only hole that I had in the list of all the movies they talked about in the book. Now that I have watched it, I can go and read the chapter on this book because I need some help understanding how it’s included. It’s definitely a very strong opening act for a Director/writer but man is this movie dark. not sure what I would think if I was Francis and my kid came out with this movie out of the gate. They were definitely some pride, but I would also have some questions. Glad to see that Sophia use this as a springboard onto some amazing work.
